NQ Intermediate Highers (Physics, Sociology, Employability, Citizenship and Volunteering)
I left high school early because they were not offering me the options I needed and I had heard that FVC had a good Highers Programme. I came into see a learning adviser and they talked me through things. It really has paid off because now I am heading off to Glasgow Caledonian University next year to study Optometry!
I hope that getting my results in August will be a favourite moment. But I really enjoyed taking part in a sponsored walk along the Forth and Clyde Canal in March to raise money for a good cause.
I want to be an optician.
I thought it would be like school with more independence. But it was much more than that as you have to take personal responsibility for attending classes and doing the work. No one is going to chase you for homework.
I did not expect anything like the Student Union building where you can just go and chill out between classes. It was a much more relaxing atmosphere than at school.
I must admit that I really enjoyed my time at Forth Valley College and would recommend it to anyone. Their UCAS councilors really helped me when I went to get information about applying for university. They made life so much easier for me and sorted me out within minutes. FVC has been the perfect stepping stone for me to progress to university.
