In true fairy-tale fashion Wood Machining Lecturer Steve Adam and one of his Modern Apprentices - Jordan Scott (20) from Bo’ness – stepped in to assist in building the platforms needed for James Young High School’s production of Beauty and the Beast
While Steve and Jordan helped to machine the pieces needed, they were also
aided by the colleges’ Advanced Craft Joiners who built a set of stairs to help performers get on and off the stage.
Jordan, who is in the third year of his apprenticeship, said: “I really enjoyed working on the stage, it was very different from what I usually do. I am quite proud of myself and it was great to help out. I would definitely do it again.”
Steve said: “Jordan worked really hard on the stage and I must say that it looks very impressive. All in all it was a very useful project for Jordan and great to have these positive links with a very good high school.
“I was at the show last Friday (10 June) and the production was phenomenal. I was just blown away and the kids were terrific on the stage built by us.”
