FVC Apprentices Win Awards

Two Modern Apprentices at Forth Valley College picked up prestigious prizes at West Lothian Council’s recent awards ceremony held at the Howden Park Centre in Livingston.

Bricklayer Mark McLelland (22) from Fauldhouse was awarded the Overall Apprentice of the Year gong to go with his best 3rd Year Apprentice award and  plumber Jamie Kerr (19) from Bathgate scooped the Michael Clark award.

Mark said: “I was really surprised, but delighted to have won the award. The college and the lecturers have really helped me with their experience and knowledge.”

West Lothian Council MA Awards   Mark McLellandDanny Houston, Curriculum Quality Leader (CQL) in Construction, said: “Both Mark and Jamie have worked really hard while on the Modern Apprenticeship courses at the college and also putting what they have learned into practice with their employers West Lothian Council.

“It comes as no surprise to me that they have been recognised in this way and I am sure they will have a successful career ahead of them.”
