Show's a Success

Creative Forth Valley College students from Falkirk strutted their stuff, as well as their innovative costumes and hot new hairstyles, at an exciting Fashion, Costume and Hair Show recently.

Around 250 people bought tickets to the show at the college’s Raploch Community Campus on Friday 11 May, and the catwalk was the centre of attention as students showed off their hair, costume and make-up styles to great approval.

A charity raffle was also held on the night and donations were made in aid of the Eilidh Brown Memorial Fund. An exact total raised for the worthy cause will be announced soon.

The show was a collaboration between students from across several departments of the college. The costumes were mainly been produced by the second year HND Art and Design class (with some input from the first years and BA degree course), the hairstyles were created by students undertaking the City and Guilds Certificate in Hairdressing NVQ Level 3, make-up was put on by Beauty Therapy learners, music and sound was produced and maintained by the first year HND Sound Production students and hospitality laid on by the trainees from the bistro@thecampus.

Linda Paterson, Curriculum and Quality Leader (CQL) for Art and Design, said: “Just about every seat was filled on the night and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves very much.

“All our students had a great time and will no doubt have benefited from the experience. It was a great example of inter-departmental cooperation and it was a great team effort. I am very proud of them all.”
