HNC Applied Science
This course is a general science award developing a broad range of skills across Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Core Skills. There is a strong emphasis on the development of laboratory competencies through practical work, lectures and case studies.

HND Applied Biological Sciences
This course brings together both plant and animal biology as well as biotechnology industrial practices. There is a strong emphasis on the development of good laboratory skills through practical work, lectures and case studies.

Human Biology (Higher)
The objectives of this programme are to cover the key areas relating to human biology. These areas range from human physiology and reproduction, molecular biology, human behaviour, to the environment we live in. The course is useful for entry to further studies including science subjects and the medical profession.

Mathematics (Higher)
The course consists of three units with external exam in May. SQA will issue a certificate giving credit for passing the individual units but the exam is necessary for full certification at this level.

Mathematics Intermediate 1
This course allows students with little or no mathematics to obtain a grasp of the basic language of mathematics and will give candidates a qualification equivalent to a general pass at Standard Grade. It consists of 3 units plus an external exam covering the whole course. While SQA will issue a certificate giving credit for the individual units the exam is necessary to claim full certification.

This course is the equivalent of a Credit Level Pass at Standard Grade. It provies an ideal platform for those wishing to progress onto Higher Maths or gain entry on to a course in Higher Education which requires a pass in Maths at Credit Level.

NQ ACCESS TO SCIENCES
Using state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, this course provides valuable experience, knowledge and technical skills for working in a laboratory environment. This course enables students to advance onto HNC, HND or degree level study and to secure employment in science-related industry sectors.
