HNC Construction Management (Year 1) - Evening

This course develops awareness of the structure and operation of the construction industry by providing the fundamental knowledge and skills required for employment as a Construction Manager. The course also enables progression onto higher qualifications. All participants will be required to use College Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle) to complete course work personal learning plans and work diary. This course is eligible for a fee waiver and part-time fee grant.

This course will be delivered on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

  • Quantity Surveying Technician

One of the following:

  • 2 Higher grades in either Maths, English or Craft and Design and 2 Standard Grades at Level 3 or National 4 or above in a technical or science related subject.
  • Successful completion of a relevant access course or an appropriate group of National Qualification Units.
  • Applicants who do not meet those criteria but have relevant industry experience or alternative qualifications will be considered at the discretion of the Curriculum Manager.

Course places are only secured after payment/funding has been arranged.

As per the College Tuition Fees and Refund Policy, tuition fees are non-refundable except under exceptional circumstances. Refunds will only be given if the course is cancelled or significantly altered by the College. Refer to our Tuition Fee and Withdrawal Procedure Information on the College website.

Student Paying Fees

Fees of less than £100 must be paid in full. Payment by instalment is available, provided the course fee is greater than £100. You can access a direct debit form here.

An initial 30% deposit is required in order to secure your place. Instalments can be paid via direct debit over the duration of the course, up to a maximum of a 4-month period. Employer Paying Fees

If your employer is paying for your tuition fees, an Employer Agreement Form or letter from your employer must be submitted prior to or upon enrolment. You can access the Employer Agreement Form here and this should be returned to Evening Admissions - eveninginfo@forthvalley.ac.uk

Fee Waiver

Some students may be eligible for a tuition fee waiver if in receipt of certain types of benefits. Fee waiver evidence must be submitted either before or upon enrolment.  Refer to our Tuition and Fee Waiver Policy for further information.

Part-time Fee Grant

If you are aged 16 or over, living in Scotland and earn £25,000 a year or less you can access a Part-time Fee Grant from the Scottish Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS). The level of funding is dependent on the number of credits studied (for HNC level courses and above).

You can apply and access the full eligibility criteria via the part-time funding section of the SAAS website at: www.saas.gov.uk. Before you apply you will need information such as the course you will be studying and the number of SCQF credits for your course. This information can be provided by emailing -  PTFG@forthvalley.ac.uk

If successful, a letter of award will be issued which will include information on how much funding you have been awarded.
