Professional Development

Many employers are happy to support their workers' learning since having a skilled workforce can help boost productivity and ultimately improve their business.

Studying for a new qualification can boost your job prospects, help you retrain for a new career or build your skills to help in your chosen career.

Within our Business Training area of the College, you have a number of options from general short courses to career-specific vocational courses. So you could choose to do anything from a 1 day short course in Presentation Skills to a 4 day First Aid at Work course or a 10 week accredited evening course in Elementary Food Hygiene aimed at people in the food industry.

We also have a number of courses from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) which may be another option for you.

It might be that studying for a Higher Education Qualification, like an HND, meets your training needs or for some people brushing up on essential skills - like Maths, English or IT - is the first and most important step in opening up new career options.
