What is Freedom of Information?
The Freedom of Information - FOI (Scotland) Act 2002 aims to increase openness and accountability in government and across the public sector by ensuring the public have the right to access information held by public authorities - including Forth Valley College.
The Act came into force from 1st January 2005.

The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 requires public authorities to adopt and maintain a publication scheme, setting out information that is published by the authority. The College's publication scheme sets out:
- the classes of information which we publish or intend to publish
- the manner in which information of each class is, or is intended to be, published
- whether the information is available free of charge or on payment of a fee
The publication scheme is designed to demonstrate the College's commitment to openness and transparency and the public interest.
